Joining Scudamore at the launch were Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck and Everton forward Victor Anichebe and together they held a question-and-answer with Sky Sports News Jeff Stelling.
Anichebe echoed the felling of fans all over the world in revealing that he could not wait for the season to start, even if both he and Welbeck need to wait longer than others because their match takes place on Monday.
"We do feel that sense of excitement the fans feel," Anichebe told premierleague.com. "As kids you grow up wanting to play football and that doesn’t go away.
"Pre-season is such a long time and we are all dying to get out of that mode and get back to playing competitive games.
"We are all blessed. We all know how much of a good thing it is to be in the Premier League. It’s a great League. You hear players from all over the world saying that they want to come here so we are ever so grateful to be involved in it.”
Welbeck and Anichebe also entertained the supporters who came to City Hall for the first Barclays Premier League Trophy Tour of the United Kingdom by trying out the latest version of the FIFA 13 game, much to the amusement of the fans, who also had the opportunity to try out the game as well as measure up against the Barclays Premier League’s tallest defenders and have their pictures taken inside an oversized Match Attax card.
