KIIZA'S HATTRICK INSPIRES YANGA
Ugandan international Hamisi Kiiza's hatrick and a Saidi Bahanuz brace inspired Yanga to an emphatic 7-1 drubbing over hapless Wau Salaam of South Sudan in a one sided Cecafa Kagame Cup clash played at the National Stadium.
The lethal combination of both Kiiza and Bahanuz was too strong for Wau Salaam as Bahanuz broke the deadlock with a fine finish in the 13th minute after a sublime Haruna Niyonzima cross.
In the 19th minute Bahanuz was the provider beating an offside trap before sliping ball to an on waiting Kiiza who blasted home his first .Kiiza added the third goal and his second in quick succession beating another offside trap before ramming the ball home past a hapless Nizir Riham in Wau Salaam's goal.
Yanga continued with their ferocious attack forward and on the hour mark Stephano Mwasika lobbed beautifully over an onrushing Nizir to give Yanga the fourth goal amid huge cheers from the thousands of fans.
Kiiza and Bahanuz lethal combination provided the fifth goal in the 40th minute when Kiiza once again became the provider gifting Bahanuz with an acute pass as he slotted his brace to make the scores five.
He capped his beautiful hatrick with an audacious back heel in the dying minutes of the first half that left keeper Nizir sprawled on the ground for the sixth. In the second half the rout continued when Nizar Khalifan scored the seventh goal with a rasping drive.
Wau Salaam got their consolation goal late in the extra time when Khamis Deshama long drive beat Yanga keeper Yaw Berko.
The win ensured Yanga remained at third position in group C behind APR, Atletico and will need a draw against APR to qualify for the quarters.
